Arts Publicist & Founder
Verismo Communications

Beth Stewart is respected by colleagues and clients for her creativity, curiosity, and candor. Beth’s breadth of experience in the arts industry – as publicist, producer, and performer – has fostered a deep empathy for those working onstage and behind the scenes, and fueled her drive to inspire those around her.

These values have shaped the mission of Verismo Communications: to be a classical music PR firm that prizes authenticity over plasticity, creates space and opportunity in clients’ lives, and operates with unswerving integrity. Verismo specializes in helping artists and arts organizations identify their distinctive brand voices, and works to infuse that genuine thread throughout each client’s presence, on- and off-line.

With Verismo, Beth has propelled clients to glossy magazine covers, features in top international print publications, and successful appearances on national radio and TV networks. She has played an integral role in major promotional and award campaigns, cultivating rising artists and keeping the spotlight on established talents, with clients such as mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton, soprano Corinne Winters, conductor Christopher Allen, and the Fry Street Quartet.

Her clients have won many of classical music’s most prestigious prizes, including awards from the Solti Foundation U.S., Richard Tucker Music Foundation, International Opera Awards, Metropolitan Opera, BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, and BBC Music Magazine; and have been featured in Opera News, The New York Times, Boston Globe, Opera, Billboard, and Gramophone, among many global and regional outlets.

Beth’s multi-pronged education – a BA from Johns Hopkins University in Latin American Studies; BM, MM, and GPD degrees from Peabody Conservatory in Voice Performance; and marketing and global business studies via the Eller MBA Programs at the University of Arizona – prepared her to thrive while juggling the demands of multiple constituents. Beth’s trademark drive and infectious energy have been fundamental in the launch of Turn The Spotlight.

Beth lives in New York City with her partner Louis and their three mischievous cats who – he assures her – will one day be best friends.
